Melanie Pilmer, Partner and Stuart Hughes are both Collaborative Family Lawyers.
Melanie Pilmer is also trained in the Resolution together model and Melanie works with couples who agree to work together to resolve their problems without going to Court. This includes the process of divorce and resolution of children and financial issues.
The breakdown of a relationship is never easy, so when the worst happens and you find that divorce or separation is inevitable, what do you do? Some couples are able to resolve the issues that arise between themselves. Others find, understandably, that they need more detailed advice on the procedures of divorce or perhaps more importantly on resolving children issues and finances. Stuart Hughes, Melanie Pilmer and Emma Alfieri, are all members of Resolution and committed to resolving matters in accordance with the Resolution code of conduct.
Mediation is a voluntary process to find a way of resolving difficulties within families. It can involve a separating couple meeting with a mediator to discuss matters, such as arrangements for their children and finances.
Divorce can be unpredictable and expensive so, a Nuptial Agreement (post and pre) can be of considerable benefit and provide both parties a degree of certainty. A Nuptial Agreement will have a substantial impact on the Judge’s decision in many cases, providing they meet certain criteria. Our team of lawyers regularly assist clients across East Anglia and London as well as further afield.
Resolution Together is a way of working where you and your former partner agree to work with one solicitor who will provide you with the help and assistance that you need to reach an outcome together. Once your circumstances are reviewed and this process is agreed to be the best approach, legal advice is provided to you jointly focusing on the best interests of the family.
At all levels we find the team to be very professional, thorough and committed to providing a first-class outcome.
