Mediation is a voluntary process to find a way of resolving difficulties within families
Typically it involves a separating couple meeting with a mediator to discuss matters that may be worrying them, such as arrangements for their children and finances. The mediator, who remains impartial, assists the couple by facilitating discussions and suggesting options and, if necessary, reality testing ideas in a balanced way. It is important that you receive legal advice throughout the mediation process.
The Ministry of Justice has carried out research to show mediation can cost a quarter of the price and take a quarter of the time of going to Court.
Our team can refer you to other accredited mediators that are recognised by Resolution and the Family Mediation Council.
