Stuart Hughes

Partner

Stuart is head of the Family & Relationships department

Stuart became a partner in December 2013 and is now a director of Stuart D Hughes Limited, one of our corporate partners. He has specialised in the area of Family & Relationship law since qualification in 1993.

What can Stuart do for you?

Advising on all aspects of relationship breakdown, including marriage and civil partnerships, he has extensive experience in cases concerning divorce, financial remedies in divorce, separation, property disputes (whether solely or jointly owned) under the Trusts of Land and Appointment of Trustees Act 1996 (TLATA), disputes concerning children, including Child Arrangement Orders (living with and spending time with), specific issue / prohibited steps, injunctive relief (domestic abuse and financial proceedings), and advising un-married parents in Financial Provision (Children Act 1989) claims. He also acts for clients in Inheritance Act claims.

Stuart also advises on asset protection including Pre and Post Nuptial Agreements and Cohabitation / Living Together agreements.

In his spare time, Stuart is a member of Bury Abbey Rotary Club and a member of Bury St Edmunds Rugby club.
