As the business world continues to adapt to dynamic economic, social, and technological shifts, staying informed about the latest developments in employment law is crucial for both employers and employees. Last Thursday, our employment team hosted their annual employment law conference at Bedford Lodge in Newmarket.
The team looked at significant developments in the legal landscape, as well as revisiting cases from last year that have since had updates or appeals.
As well as addressing crucial issues such as menopause in the workplace, whistleblowing protections, and proposed changes to the law regarding non-compete restrictions, the team also looked at sickness absence, artificial intelligence, sexual harassment in the workplace, new family friendly rights, and equality and inclusion, as well as summarising recent employment tribunal trends and notable cases.
We were delighted to be joined by Craig Jones, MBE and Caroline Paige from Fighting with Pride as our guest speakers who spoke movingly about their time in the armed forces and the challenges they faced in ‘coming out’. They also spoke about how important inclusivity and diversity is in the workplace, to retain and develop talent within organisations.
