The Role
The role involves providing tax planning and financial advisory services to Greene & Greene equity holders operating through a number of both limited companies and sole trader business structures. The successful candidate will work closely with the firm’s partner entities and Accounts Manager in providing legitimate and effective tax management strategies tailored to individual requirements and circumstances.
- Corporation tax planning for corporate entities operated by Greene & Greene equity holders and the ongoing monitoring of the touchpoints between those entities and the underlying partnership business. You will advise on a variety of tax mitigation strategies that may be available to the companies, oversee director loan account balances and advise on the timing of dividend declarations for those entities.
- Preparation and submission of personal tax returns for the individual and corporate partners of Greene & Greene. This will include regular liaison with the partners and the provision of tailored personal tax advice as to their business interests throughout the fiscal year.
- To act as matter specialist for a range of tax related issues that can affect the Greene & Greene partnership and related entities. Requiring a broad working knowledge of business taxation, this will include acting as the point of liaison between HMRC on tax related matters, including partnership taxation, CGT, PAYE and VAT amongst others.
- The role is a new position and will require the candidate to put in place certain infrastructure support the role. This will include establishing HMRC agent authorisation and the implementation of suitable taxation software to meet the requirements of the role.
Knowledge and skills
- Ideally an ACA, ACCA, CTA qualified accountant interested in providing in house services to a professional services business.
- 5 + years experience in providing personal and corporate tax services, ideally gained from working with owner managed businesses and complex business structures.
- A good knowledge of partnership accounting, ideally derived from experience with professional services partnerships.
- Experience of implementing and using tax related software packages and the digital submission of returns to HMRC.
