George Payne associate solicitor speaks about all things when thinking of selling your farm

George is an Associate Solicitor in our agricultural and rural affairs team

George qualified in 2017 and then spent two years practicing in the manufacturing and engineering sector. George joined the agriculture and estates team at a reputable national firm in 2020 where he spent five and half years undertaking a range of agricultural and rural property related matters. George joined Greene & Greene in April 2026, following a spell as the sole legal counsel for a prestigious family office.

What can George do for you?

George acts for a range of individuals, partnerships and agricultural businesses on a wide variety of agricultural and rural property related matters. Such matters include buying and selling agricultural land and estates, agricultural tenancies (including Farm Business Tenancies and Agricultural Holdings Act tenancies), as well as overage and option agreements. George also undertakes various estate management matters, such as the grant of easements (including those involving statutory undertakers), covenants, first registration of land and acting for banks and landowners on refinancing matters.

The Agricultural & Rural Affairs team works closely with the wider Greene & Greene team to ensure the full breadth of agricultural clients’ needs are met.

George is a fellow of the Agricultural Law Association, is born and bred in Suffolk and continues to live locally.
