At Greene & Greene, we believe that investing in the next generation of legal professionals is key to the continued success and evolution of our firm. Our trainee solicitor programme is designed to offer a rich, hands-on experience that equips aspiring solicitors with the skills, confidence, and exposure they need to thrive in their careers.
Since launching the programme, we’ve seen fantastic growth and success. Our trainees rotate through four seats, gaining experience across a full-service firm and working directly with clients ranging from large PLCs to high-net-worth individuals. With partner-led supervision, trainees benefit from close mentorship and the opportunity to learn from some of the most respected lawyers in their fields.
Melanie Pilmer, Training Partner, shares:
“Our programme is built on the principle of meaningful development. We want our trainees to feel challenged, supported, and inspired. Seeing them grow into confident professionals is one of the most rewarding parts of my role.”
We’re proud to report a 100% retention rate, reflecting the strength of our training structure and collaborative culture that defines Greene & Greene.
Recent milestones highlight the programme’s success. Helen Proctor and Ellice Green, our first trainees from our relaunched training programme, recently qualified as solicitors and have joined our Employment and Disputes teams respectively. Annabel Leach and Olga Kyriakoudi, now entering their second year, have already made a strong impression and are progressing with confidence and enthusiasm. This September, we welcomed our third intake: Bobbie-Rae Durant and Molly Shaw, who have just begun their training contracts. We’re excited to support them on their journey.
Our office in Bury St Edmunds offers a beautiful and accessible setting, with a vibrant network of young professionals and excellent transport links. While we’re proudly rooted in Suffolk, our work spans the UK and internationally, and we consistently rank highly in Legal 500 UK and Chambers & Partners UK legal directories.
We pride ourselves on standing out from the crowd and offer our trainees client exposure from day one, a varied workload across departments, expert supervision and mentorship, a friendly, inclusive, and motivated culture, opportunities for career progression, excellent benefits and work-life balance.
