Greene & Greene are delighted to announce we are sponsoring the 2024 Memorial Cycle Ride. The event is in memory of the Bury St Edmunds Rugby Club players tragically killed in the 3rd March 1974 air disaster.
The Memorial Cycle Ride will take place between the 10th and 15th September 2024. Riders will cover over 354 miles from Ermenonville (site of the crash, North of Paris) via the Hook of Holland and Harwich, back to Bury St Edmunds. Cyclists of all levels will come together to participate in this commemorative event, which aims to foster community spirit while supporting both the Rugby Club and St Nicholas Hospice.
In addition to sponsorship, we are proud to have two of our partners, Hugo Greer-Walker and Jonathan Mathers, participating in the ride. Both experienced cyclists, they have been training hard and fundraising in and out of the office to support their participation.
Simon Ratcliffe, Managing Partner, said ‘We are honoured to sponsor the Memorial Cycle Ride 2024. This event not only pays tribute to those tragically killed 50 years ago but also brings together individuals for a cause that unites us all. We are also proud to support Hugo and Jonathan as they take on this epic challenge.’
The Memorial Cycle Ride is open to participants of all ages and skill levels, and there are numerous ways to get involved, from cycling to volunteering or simply cheering on the riders.
