We are delighted to announce the launch of a new charitable fund, in conjunction with Suffolk Community Foundation.
The Greene & Greene Foundation Fund will award grants to charities, voluntary organisations and good causes in and around West Suffolk.
Describing the reasoning behind setting up the Fund, Mark Daly, Partner of Greene & Greene said:
“Our firm was established in Bury St Edmunds in 1893 and over 130 years later we remain committed to our local community alongside our colleagues and clients. In consultation with members of our Charity, Social, Environmental and Wellbeing (CSEW) Committee, which is made up of representatives from across our firm, we witnessed a real passion and desire to give something back to those in need. The Committee will be empowered to work with Suffolk Community Foundation to select the good causes that the Foundation Fund will support.
Our firm has had a long-standing relationship with Suffolk Community Foundation, through Partners acting as Trustees and working alongside the High Sheriff of Suffolk. We felt that Hannah and her team were the perfect people to help us achieve our goals.”
The Partners of Greene & Greene have contributed the initial donation to establish the Foundation Fund and have made a commitment to continue contributions on an annual basis. The Foundation Fund will initially be an endowment, creating investment income for future grant making, with the intention for grants to commence in late 2027, together with a flow-through of funds from such future donations. There will also be regular fundraising activities to raise awareness and additional money for the Foundation Fund.
Hannah Bloom, Director of Philanthropy and Engagement at Suffolk Community Foundation commented:
“We are delighted that Greene & Greene have established a new Fund with Suffolk Community Foundation. As a grant maker, our role is to increase philanthropic giving in Suffolk and ensure this is awarded to local charities who are doing excellent work in our county. There are over 4,000 registered charities in Suffolk, but there are many more smaller community groups and voluntary organisations who are also running fantastic projects on our doorstep.
We are very grateful to Greene & Greene for their generosity, and we look forward to helping them identify causes that resonate with their staff and support charitable projects in West Suffolk.”
Suffolk Community Foundation provide grants to help charities and community organisations who are supporting local people facing disadvantage, to improve their lives.
They do this by working with individuals, families, businesses, professional advisors, and charitable trusts, helping them to fund local groups that are tackling the issues they care about most. Find out more about the Foundation on their website.
