On 29 January 2025, the West Suffolk Manufacturing Group (WSMG) gathered for an insightful session at the XR Lab, University Professional & Development Centre at West Suffolk College, Bury St Edmunds. The meeting was chaired by Richard Bridgman, the Founder and Owner of Warren Services.
The WSMG, which recently celebrated its sixth anniversary, was established to support manufacturing and engineering businesses in West Suffolk. Meeting three times a year at member premises, the sessions include a tour and presentation by the host business, alongside guest speaker presentations. Networking and best practice sharing are essential parts of the meetings. WSMG also connects with similar groups across Norfolk and Suffolk, which has successfully helped local employers build connections, with one SME reporting benefits worth around £800,000 from participating.
At the request of the Group’s members, Greene & Greene Partner, Mark Daly, delivered an engaging presentation: “Effective Terms & Conditions for Manufacturing Businesses”, focussing on navigating legal complexities and managing legal risks. Mark provided insight into his experience of advising clients on key contractual arrangements to safeguard business interests.
Other noteworthy speakers at the event included Chris Corkan and Priya Nainthy of Make UK (formerly known as EEF), the largest and most influential voice supporting over 20,000 UK manufacturing employers, Sam Ashman of EAL, the market leader in qualifications and end-point assessments for the engineering and manufacturing sectors, and James Williamson of NAAME (New Anglia Advanced Manufacturing & Engineering), the recognised sector group for manufacturing and engineering businesses in Norfolk and Suffolk.
The corporate team at Greene & Greene has vast experience in dealing with all aspects of commercial law, frequently representing manufacturing companies both locally and internationally. Find out more about the team and how they can help your business on our website.
