About you
Essential experience:
- Proven experience in managing HR functions within a professional services environment, preferably in a law firm.
- Demonstrated expertise in employee relations, talent acquisition, and performance management.
Desirable experience:
- Familiarity with HR practices specific to the legal sector.
- Experience in implementing diversity, equality, and inclusion initiatives.
- CIPD qualification or working towards.
Knowledge and skills
You must be able to:
- Manage the full employee lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, performance reviews, and offboarding.
- Develop and implement HR policies and procedures in line with legal compliance and best practices.
- Advise Partners and senior management and staff on employment law, benefits, and organisational development.
- Handle sensitive employee relations issues with professionalism and confidentiality.
- Lead and support HR projects, such as staff development programmes and wellbeing initiatives.
- Use HR management software and tools effectively.
- Build and maintain strong relationships across all levels of the firm.
- Demonstrate excellent organisational, communication, and negotiation skills.

The department
The HR Manager will work closely with the Practice Manager, Managing Partner and HR Partner and will be responsible for supporting the firm’s 80+ employees. Working closely with senior leadership, the successful candidate will play a key role in driving the firm’s people strategy, ensuring it aligns with our strategic goals and promotes a culture of inclusivity and excellence.
