Rachael is an Accounts Assistant in our Accounts team.
When did you join Greene & Greene and what is your current role?
I originally joined Greene & Greene in June 2014 as a floating legal secretary before moving on in August 2018. I returned to the firm in August 2019 as a legal secretary in the employment team before moving onto my current role in accounts in February 2022.
Please tell us about your career to date
After leaving full time education, I took up an admin apprenticeship at another law firm completing an NVQ in Business Administration. After this, I decided to keep on studying whilst working and with the Open University I achieved a law degree. At the end of my degree, Greene & Greene offered to support me to qualification as a legal practitioner but having worked as support and admin staff I decided to pursue a career in accounts. The experience I have gained from working alongside the teams and my studies means I came to this role with a thorough understanding of the workings of the firm and how best our team can support the business needs.
What attracted you to join the firm?
I first heard about Greene & Greene through an old contact who recommended I applied for the role. This personal recommendation along with the opportunities, future training and chance to build your own career path made it very appealing. So appealing, I didn’t stay away for long!
Describe a typical day
There is no such thing as a typical day! We work as a team and cover all aspects of accounts from client bills and funds to invoicing and reporting. I enjoy the variation of work and interacting with all the teams and our clients. Working in accounts means that not every conversation is a positive one but working together to find solutions is very rewarding.
Is there anything you would like to say to prospective employees?
There is an excellent sense of community at Greene & Greene, everyone is friendly and respectful of each other’s roles. The firm moved quickly when COVID hit and since then we have fully embraced hybrid and flexible working making it easier to achieve a great work/life balance.
