Emma is a Legal Director in our Family team.
When did you join Greene & Greene and what is your current role?
I joined Greene & Greene in October 2019 in the Family team. In August 2022, I was promoted to Legal Director.
Please tell us about your career to date
I was with my previous firm for over 15 years, joining as a junior member of the team and completing all my CILEX training whilst there. I joined G&G three years ago as a Chartered Legal Executive and am delighted to have been promoted recently.
I am a member of Resolution which is an organisation committed to resolving disputes in a collaborative and respectful manner, which is something I feel strongly about.
As an advocate of fault free divorce, I lobbied at Parliament with other members of Resolution in 2016 to bring about the recent changes to the current divorce law.
What attracted you to join the firm?
A former colleague of mine told me about the position at Greene & Greene and all the reasons why I should consider moving. After 15 years at the same company, it was not a quick or easy decision to make to move on but the promise of a great team, an inclusive culture, excellent office location and the standard of work I could expect was enough for me to make the jump.
Describe a typical day
Like most client facing roles, there isn’t really a typical day. We can be planning for court hearings or meeting with clients when you suddenly must react to a situation on a completely different case! Helping our clients achieve the best outcome possible is incredibly rewarding. You really get to know your clients in this area of law, for most it is an incredibly stressful and emotional experience and I do my best to make it as clear and straightforward as possible for them.
Is there anything you would like to say to prospective employees?
Greene & Greene really is a great firm to work for. The culture is friendly and supportive with plenty of opportunity for socialising with colleagues, the office is in a great location and the firm have really embraced hybrid working. The quality of work is also excellent which is a real testament to the firm’s reputation.
